About the Role:
The Housing Support Representative plays a critical role in assisting individuals and families in securing safe, affordable, and stable housing solutions. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their housing needs, provide guidance on available resources, and facilitate access to housing programs and services. The representative acts as a liaison between clients, landlords, and housing agencies to ensure smooth communication and successful placement. By advocating for clients and navigating complex housing systems, the role contributes to improving community well-being and reducing homelessness. Ultimately, the Housing Support Representative helps empower clients to achieve long-term housing stability and independence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in social services, case management, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain detailed records.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income or vulnerable groups.
- Knowledge of local housing laws, tenant rights, and community resources.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the community. (Additional pay for being Bilingual in Spanish)
- Training or certification in housing counseling or case management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' housing needs and eligibility for various housing programs.
- Provide information and referrals to appropriate housing resources, including rental assistance, shelters, and supportive services.
- Assist clients in completing housing applications, preparing documentation, and understanding lease agreements.
- Collaborate with landlords, property managers, and community organizations to identify available housing options.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, case progress, and outcomes in compliance with organizational policies.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to resolve housing-related issues and barriers.
- Participate in community outreach and education efforts to raise awareness of housing support services.
Pay: $16.01 per hour.
Schedule: M-F: 10-6:30pm-EST Or M-F: 11-7:30pm-EST.
Training Schedule: M-F: 10-6:30pm-EST.
Position expected to start the 2nd week of August.
