How do you know if you're being scammed by a disreputable housing counseling company?
These are the points to watch out for:
They tell you to stop talking to your mortgage company
They ask you to send your mortgage payment to anyone other than your mortgage company
They tell you to stop paying your mortgage
They reach out to you. You will need to reach out to a reputable company, they should not be chasing you.
