New Jersey Jump$tart Coalition is Honored as the Coalition of the Year at Annual Awards Dinner

New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education (NJCFE) was selected as the winner of this prestigious award.

The Jump$tart Coalition for Financial Literacy is comprised of more than 100 national organizations and a network of 51 independent, affiliated state coalitions that share a commitment to advancing youth financial literacy by bringing together the financial literacy community to foster cooperation and collaboration. Jump$tart raises awareness around the importance of financial literacy and the importance of effective financial education.

Every year, Jump$tart selects a state coalition to be honored at their annual awards dinner.  This year the New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education (NJCFE) was selected as the winner of this prestigious award.  Navicore Solutions' Kim Cole is the current Chairwoman for the NJCFE, and was present to accept the award on behalf of the NJCFE on April 3rd in Washington, DC.

The focus of Jump$tart is to bring financial education to children from preschool through 12th grade. Since 2009, New Jersey has mandated a semester of personal financial education as a requirement of high school graduation. That educational mandate has, in the last 3 months, been extended to  middle school grades 6th through 8th making New Jersey a leader in the field of providing financial education to students.

The NJCFE expanded the Jump$tart mission of providing extensive teacher training and resources, to bringing financial education beyond the classroom and out into the community for those of all ages. The members of the NJCFE are from various organizations, some of which  were also present to celebrate at the awards dinner. They included Vice-Chairwoman Patricia Berhau, Secretary Grant Gallagher, Board Member Becky Winters, Grants Liaison Dr. Barbara O'Neil and Executive Director Michael Drulis.

Navicore Solutions has always stood behind the work of the NJCFE. This year was no exception.   Attending the awards dinner from Navicore Solutions was Vice President, Diane Gray, Grant Coordinator and NJCFE Board Member, Becky Winters, and Digital Marketing Manager, Lori Stratford.

Some of the most highly regarded influencers in the financial education community were also present for the celebration dinner. “I appreciate the support that our Navicore team has provided for our participation in the NJCFE and for my role as Chairwoman. That support was the reason I was on that stage accepting the award on behalf of the NJ coalition,” says Kim Cole.
